Hey all u might think i'm retarted and not really watching the games and instead actually gettin a kick out of all the cars driving by. But actually i am watching intently and here are some notes from last season and predicitons for next.
Lets start with the champion FL. They were good last year, but by no means are a great team and i have no idea why they are so cocky this time around. Matt is one of the three game breaking players i believe there are in the league. His defense has improved greatly and can now influence games with his glove. And of course his hitting his always constant having the best average last year.(.603) James is not as good as he tells everybody. His hitting is pretty good, but will suffer without the black bat, and his fielding is ok at best. He makes the plays to him and is pretty sure handed but will not make any outstanding catches. Greg was the years most improved player and can now spread the ball around alittle. His fielding his very good for a pitcher assuming he stays there, though his one knock is that he gets frustrated and can be taken out of hi sgame by his brother. I must say Jared did have a decent year. He hit decently and his fieldig was pretty good at first. Though i must say his speed does hurt the fl on the base paths. You just can't really root for him because of his attitude and mouth. Mike is goin to be a big question mark. He used to be pretty good, but of course his love for the game lacks.
Now to the AL. From player to player they might have the best team. Niesz is the second player who i believe can single handindly change the game. His fielding is just outstanding, he has great range and is very sure handed. His hitting is also good but not as constant as it can be. Though he did become more of a well rounded hitter, being able to hit to all parts now and even hitting for power to the opposite field. Kev was great and bad. Great hitting, bad fielding. I don't know if the shortstop is the place for him and i think the addition of richie is good cause i believe kev would be a great first baseman. Kev is the best at hitting the other way though and always has teh fielders guessing. Richie if he makes most of the games may be the steal of the draft. He hits very well, has power, and will take the walk. He is a smart player and a very good fielder. With these three present ont he field at the same time the al will be very hard to beat. To round out the al u have big d, who was probably the best hitter at the beginning of the year, and still can be if he puts his mind to it. His fielding is suspect but i believe he can be a decent first baseman if he has the right people throwing to him, jim wasn't that person. Another knock on big d is his brains for the game, he made some poor desicions this year and it really cost the nl. Sean is a wild card for this team. He's either good or horrible. Being the only switch hitter he can hit to all fields and can really mess up the fielders, thats if he puts th eball in play. He just strikes out way too much. His fielding is very suspect, and should really work on a quicker release when throwing over to first.
And finally the NL. The NL came into last year as the team to beat and came out very disapointed. There top pick paulie was a bust and hopefully this year will be different. There top player JIm is the last player i believe can change the course of a game by himself. He's a great hitter who also began to hit to all fields really messing up defenses. And everybody knows about this guys defense. He catches everything and has a phenominal arm, though i wonder if to good. I don't know if theres aybody who can cansantly catch his throws, and that will be the NL's task thi syear. Cresci there number one pick is a greta pick by manager cobb. He can hit with the best of them to all fields and also has good power. His fielding is decent but can be bad if he's not thiking. He often catches balls wit one hand, and throws the ball away a bit. For the NL to be sound defensively they will need him to have his head on straight. His attendance is also a bit of a question because the relationship between hima nd cobb isn't the best and cobb does have an issue of not contacting hi splayers very well. Cobb didn't have his best year last year, but still decent. His fielding was sound, he is very sure handed and can sporatically make a great play but also been known to drop one every now and then. His hitting wasn't greta hti syear, and hi spower seemed to disapear. His average was still good though, but he can do better. Joe again last year showed his uncertainty. His hitting style of slapping the ball wasn't very affective, and he was very unsure of himself in the field with led to a lack of confidence. Joe needs to get that confidence back to become an effective player. Gary had a down year last year offensively, but played surprisingly well defensively at first which could help the nl greatly, though catching jim is alot harder thn kev. Gary also strikes out too much and should look to pull the ball more. Anyways can;'t wait to watch u all again next year and don't be strangers, say hi to me and play wit me once in awhile!
