Alvida-
There's actually a lot of new terminology that we've come up with in terms of our time/calendar system. I am not sure how exactly you want to deal with this, because we have given them spoken names, but perhaps you want to give them a written symbol.
The smallest increment in time is a 4 hour period called a strata
There are 6 stratum in one 24 hour day (from moonrise to moonrise)
In our society, for example you'll say, "meet me at the 3rd strata).
The 24 hour day (what we currently know as a solar day) will be called a Solum in Aquadiem.
29 to 30 solum make up one moon (or lunar cycle).(This number varies every other month to keep up with a true lunar cycle which is approximately 29 days, 11 hours and 44 minutes)
With in one lunar cycle there are 8 important phases:
New Moon
Waxing cresent
First Quarter
Waxing Gibbous
Full Moon
Waning Gibbous
Last Quarter
Waning Cresent
77 moons (or full lunar cycles) make up one Terra (comes from the latin for three) Which is exactly a third of a full tidal cycle (18.6 years).
There are three Terras in one Full Tidal Cycle, each representing land, water, and air. The names are:
Within each terra, the 77 moons are each named (it sounds crazy to memorize, but this was some thing done successfully with the ancient chinese calendar). After one terra, the names start over in the next terra.
We chose names for our moons that are derived from characters in Shakespearean plays, as an effort to comemorate and celebrate great intellectual knowledge (as we do in our great libraries)
