I'm writing from the Ottawa area in Ontario and I believe it's too early to find much yet around home. In the year of the ice storm (1998), my Golden Retreiver and I found a nice pair from an 8 pointer on Jan. 5th - just as the storm was beginning - there were even spots of blood on the snow crust so I knew that they hadn't been there for very long. Generally though I find them much later - well on into Feb. and to date this year, there's nothing to suggest that anything is different. I've seen lots of bucks and nothing on the ground. There's only about 8 inches of snow so there should be a few tines sticking up if they were present. I'm hunting in areas where the deer are so numerous that, in places, I'd swear that I was in a barnyard for the number of tracks around. So I know that it must be a matter of time yet... The rut last fall was a full two weeks late (the latest I've ever seen in 25 years of hunting)and I have to wonder if antler fall will be correspondingly late this spring.

still seeing bucks with horns on behind my house think
>i will wait till the mid of feb when most are off...i
>have a question? i only find 4 or 5 sheds a year i
>walk alot also..where do you guys find most of your
>sheds at bedding feeding areas ext. i hear of people

>want more sheds maybe i am half blind lol...
