Bear picts are excellent grapplers aren't they? I'm so glad I wasn't there.

Craig -- it's generally agreed that Conan is a terribly dangerous game. Don't feel bad that you've had to spend fate points to stay alive -- that's why they're there.

I keep second guessing our failings with the paymaster adventure -- we should have fortified our position before nightfall and readied campfires to be lit if needed. And if we'd known that there was a settlement with pallisades nearby, we should have gone straight there . . . a lot of soldiers died needlessly.

Strategically, I think the most important thing to do is keep the tribes feuding among themselves and not present ourselves as so great a threat that they would band together against us.

Also, we should clear cut sections of forest that can be used for encampments while travelling through the forests. Our Soldiers will do better in areas where the Picts cannot sneak within melee range.

Tactically, we need to:
A. have better trained troops that fight in formation
B. have more intelligence/warning against Pict attacks, ambush
C. Stop chasing the picts through the forests . . . use the time that they take to regroup to set our own ambushes
