Updated Phaidon tonight. Go check the massively active updates page if you don't believe me. :)

He's only got two items to his name, since he was sucked into the funnel of annihilation (gosh I love that title). And both of those are borrowed!

He has the +1 Holy Illithid Bane Pilum of Thelebius Gul (on loan from Alexander) and The boots of Hermes (on loan from Athena). Now, for reference, those boots allow Phaidon to move at 120 ft. and fly at 360 ft. (perfect). Remember as well, that his panthers are stone statues and will not be going into the final battle with Ool, Larbius, and Ares.

The reasons I say it must be fate are these:

Boots - Yeah, the boots are great and they were gonna help out tremendously. However, Phaidon was gonna have to be extra careful in their use. Of course, he could zip all over the battlefield, but if he engaged an enemy he would be stuck there with his new AC of 16 (lost his armor and buckler). Well, then level 15 came along and Phaidon got a feat according to the chart in the PHB. Hmmmm... What to take? No-brainer! Spring Attack (he already had Dodge and Mobility). Spent one fate point. ;)

Then, his panthers aren't going with him. I chose to take Panther Lord 5th level for my 15th level. (10th ranger, 5th panther lord). Panther Lord is a homemade class that isn't on the website because it infringes too badly on feats presented in Masters of the Wild. :)

Anyways, the benefits of going from 4th level Panther Lord to 5th level Panther Lord are: No extra BAB, FRW all the same, no extra caster level, Animal Companion Int goes up by 2 (useless for the time being), and 2nd Panther Totem.

The 2nd Panther Totem just happened to be the Scent Ability. Even if Ordiss Ool is covered in Larbius' $^%& when Larby craps himself, Phaidon should be able to track him down. :) Spent another fate point.

It's fate.
