Dick and Jane, I don't have any Shar Pei showing symptoms of FSF but I am in a natural rearing group for Shar Pei where many of the owners are in your position. A lot are using MSM (Methyl sulfonyl Methane)as a replacenment for Colchinane citing concerns over the damage it causes.
It is available in a health food shop or chemist without prescription. It can also be used as a replacement for Chondroitin and Glucosamine for the arthritic dogs out there.
