I was furious when I saw that we had to pay to aprk in areas that used to be free, that, like you pointed out, our taxes have already paid for. I have lived in NH all my life and been a taxpayer for 31 years (That's how many years I have been in the work force and owned property in this state). I think I have more than paid for a parking space to enjoy a short hike or a few hours of enjoyment beside one of our rivers. I have not parked in one of the fee-for-parking areas since the inception of the fees(I call them fines) and, how sad, I am not able to share with my son, the places my parents shared with me.
