I read the two versions of "Jeremy" and preferred the first over the latter. It was a little easier to follow and feel the real gravity of the story.
I don't know your background Dewey, but you have an excellent grasp of how to "write a picture". If you don't work with kids for a living, perhaps you should consider it. I DO work with kids from time to time and what you wrote about in "Jeremy" isn't too far off from what goes on all the time. Unfortunately, what happens in real life tends to be much worse. I'm not referring to the violent death of Jeremy of course, but rather how he was treated while he was alive. I see kids on a weekly basis in the same situations and it's so sad to realize people can treat "their own" like that.
