This guy is so insightful and understanding, he's almost too perfect. He's been there for Pete, and now he's worked a small miracle with Brian. The guy has a window to everyone's emotions that seems to allow him to be able to see the things he needs in order to be able to help. He almost blew it with Brian, but Brian's plea for help was just too much for Jason to overlook. We really don't know a whole lot about him beyond his being there whenever someone needs some psychological help, either someone to talk to or support or whatever. His tolerance of his foster-brothers' lifestyles is really interesting and fascinating. It would be too easy to make him gay, also; but bi is a possibility.
