Spice melange...cool reference. Excellent topic here, WindWalker, and I'm going to do my best to leave spirituality out of this reply (but man, there are so many tangents!). Space travel is inevitable, though I think it will be eons before we even begin to attempt ripping holes in the universe. There's that awful weight-gain problem for starters. I understand that the essence of this piece is not to diagram, but to extol the virtues of a particular scientific endeavor (One that's entertaining to ponder, and a near-future surety). Your words did just that, perfectly. I'm particularly intrigued with the fourth line of the last stanza. Great read...
