I feel you near,
getting so close.
Do you know fear?

As I will have, initially.
Will you see how inside,
I'll ever be eighteen,
spiritual and otherwise?
Seeing and feeling both,
where rare others only feel half.
How little they perceive.
Doesn't mean not willing
to do my adult share.

How will you find me
in more than just the virtual?
When without her father
or wheelchair bound,
nor to a Robert
I feel so Elizabeth Browing
for the present times.
Knowing, how a loving twinkle
in an eye, can fool me so.
Another thing he took.

Will you forgive
when it takes me a long while
for my complete trust?
Or that I'm not in that place
where long ago, I meant to be.
Are you back south
visualizing that one magical kiss
we shared at summer's last faire.
For which I cannot let
myself Georgia pine, Alabama or not.

Maybe you were just a tease
from gods of the woods.
Still I can see your eyes of blue
for two days,
as you seemed to notice
me only somewhat
until that last moment possible.
Are we both too hurt?
Will I ever know,
or will you?
