SIMPLE TRUTH




From the unavoidable pain
of this feared moment
I silently repeat
this simple truth:
every hurtful situation
is made of positive vibrations.
Though I walk heavily
in a patchwork world
of broken dreams,
though I grope about
in featureless landscape
hidden in roiling darkness,
a moment of understanding
reveals this ancient truth:
I possess the innate ability
to pull myself at will
back into the spirit’s light.
