I enjoyed this a lot - great imagery.

I spent most of my childhood flying around on a magic carpet, in fact I thought I had the monopoloy on the magic carpet:

Weaving Magic

Sitting at your knees
listening to your stories
woven into a magic world
full of fairies, goblins, witches too
but, most of all,
I remember the flying carpet
that took me to far off lands.
Escape from reality
just you and me
hand in hand
chasing rainbows
never arriving in time
to find that pot of gold
but we didn’t mind
we had each other
and your stories
were worth so much more.
How many children
get to travel
to lands far across the oceans
see the pyramids
shoot the rapids
walk through rainforests green.
You left me the richest treasure
my imagination
where I can still join you
on my magic carpet
in the land of our dreams.
