Wow AngelOFire - this is something else. It has to be my favourite of yours - so many contrasting images coming through with undertones. You have some great lines here:

"You were asked … but I was told"

"Lowered my soul a few degrees
Chilled my wants and froze my needs"

"I breathe you as you exhale
You go dark while I turn pale"

says so much about the inbalance in some relationships - love the ending too.

A strong piece of writing which betrays and underlying sadness at the injustice of the relationship.
