I fumble with frayed edges
Dream of freckled shoulders, my fire
Of broken building's bent ledges.

I have crossed deserts green with life
And I have tasted the waters
Still, I thirst, hunger for the light
Of this irrepressible desire.

I have dressed in linen and silk
And roamed naked across pages
I rolled with thieves, drinking blood's milk
Fumbling with frayed edges.

With bums I have haunted the streets
Face unseen beneath a mask of ire
At night I sleep with you out of reach
A dream of freckled shoulders, my fire.

In palaces, I ruled, Queen of Swords
Slicing through the cold, your somber pledges
Bringing down these raging worlds
Of broken building's bent ledges.

I have feasted on poet's flesh
And was famished by music's lyre
The colors collide, enmeshed
I detest, adore, this gift, so tired
This irrepressible desire.
