Well, I am very happy! Quite a turn-around from earlier this week when I was feeling like I never wanted to set foot in a classroom of 8th graders again. ;-)
The reason why I'm so happy is that Joe found a great house for us to rent in Provo! It's actually a really good situation. Joe's best friend, Ryan Shoemaker, is starting his MA with Joe this fall at BYU. Only, Ryan and Jen live in Pheonix, they just bought a house, and Jen landed a great job (MBA Finance) with AmericaWest Airlines. So Ryan scheduled his classes for Tues, Wed, Thurs--and he needs a place to rent for only those days. He'll be flying back and forth--since Jen works for an airline, they can get good prices.
Anyway, we thought if we could find a place where Ryan could rent out a room, then we could afford a bigger rent payment, and that would get us a nicer house. The thing is, we wanted something where Ryan's room would be in a different part of the house, so that we had more privacy.
This is probably TOTALLY BORING to you. Sorry, I'm long winded.
In short, all the places in our budget (not including Ryan's contribution) were nasty. But Joe found the perfect house, and with Ryan's rent added on, we can afford it!
The best part is, it is going to be great for having house guests because it has rooms to stay in-- so if you ever want a place to stay, please call us!
On the entry floor is a family room and full kitchen and laundry room (I've NEVER had a laundry room!!!) and half bathroom. Up the stairs are three bedrooms: the Mstr with good closet space and nice full bathroom, and two spare bedrooms with another full bathroom!!! One of the rooms we'll use for an office for Joe, and the other one I'll have fun decorating and using for extra space, and maybe we can get a cheap bed in there for guests to use.
In the basement is another family/living room area, and another bedroom, and another full bathroom. That is where Ryan will stay-- so he'll be on the first floor (basement) and we'll be on the third floor, AND there is even a door on the stairway to the basement that closes!
PLUS-- there is a garage! I've NEVER lived in a place with a garage!
CAN YOU BELIEVE IT?!!! I'm soooooooo HAPPY!!!
I can't believe it! 3.5 baths, 4 bedrooms, A/C, fenced backyard, garage, laundry room, full kitchen, and 2 family rooms!
The funny thing is, we don't have a couch or coffee table or anything, so it will be pretty empty for awhile. We'll be visiting D.I. and garage sales looking for furniture under $30. It will be fun. I'm very excited.
If you ever come and stay, you will have your own room to sleep in, and your very own bathroom too!
I'm so happy, I'm so happy!
