:)

I think the ex-father in law is just as insecure as his son, and he's trying to compensate by spreading stupid rumors about me. Another good reason to go off to school!

Ryan appears to be in the hard money lending business now and trying to do real estate development. I actually have a good friend who was approached by Ryan and some of Ryan's business partners last week about funding for a real estate development. My friend said it was a horrible project; destined to fail. He predicts, and I agree, that Ryan will be in serious financial trouble within 5 years. He's not smart enough to be in the risky business he's in; real estate development is going to be tough the next few years with the economy the way it is, and hard money lending often gets people into trouble as well.

Fortunately I've only had to talk to Ryan once this year - about a tax issue. It seems that even if someone wasn't a total jerk during marriage, somehow when they become an ex-husband, they turn into one. I called him because we had a tax liability from when we were still married and I thought it would be fair for both of us to pay it. Ryan got all snotty with me and said he totally got screwed in our divorce settlement so he refused to pay anything more and he was going to get attorneys and CPAs involved if I tried to force him, etc etc. We're talking a couple hundred bucks here . . . less than his supposed attorneys fees . . . . what a joke. And he was using foul language with me and I made a comment like "nice language Ryan" and he said "I don't have to watch my language around you anymore; I don't care what you think." Hmmmm. It was quite the conversation. He kept arguing and finally I told him it wasn't worth it to me to have to deal with him, I would just pay the taxes. And I finished the call by saying "Ryan, I'm going to hang up the phone now and be forever grateful that we're divorced."

Oh, and then I made the mistake a couple weeks ago of looking Ryan up on LDSLinkup.com and in his profile he says that he got divorced last April and he's getting back into dating now and he's "interested in girls who aren't crazy." So . . . I guess that makes me the crazy ex-wife!

I'm just glad its almost 1 year since we were officially divorced. It's been hard to have all the "first's" - like the first Christmas divorced, the 1 year anniversary of separating, the 1st wedding anniversary since separating (Wednesday this week). Once April 5th comes (the date our divorce decree was signed last year) then I'll have passed all the big emotional milestones and I can hopefully just move on. I thought I had already moved on but the wedding anniversary was really hard for me for some reason.
