There's a pretty interesting concert coming up next weekend, April 12 and 13.

The U of U Singers, Acappella choir, soloists, and an orchestra are performing the Monteverdi Vespers. This work isn't done with any sort of regularity, and it's pretty cool (even though I'm sick TO DEATH of it right now, it's still pretty cool), so it's worth your time.

On Saturday, April 12, it'll be at Gardner Hall at 7:30. Tickets are $7 ($3 for students). On Sunday, April 13, it'll be at the Cathedral of the Madeleine. The concert will start at 8:00, but there will be a lecturer speaking about them Vespers at 7:00. He's, like, a world renowned expert on the Vespers, so it will probably be pretty interesting.

Oh, I've just checked my schedule, and it looks like he'll be lecturing at 6:30 on Saturday as well, so there you go.

Anyway, the important thing about the one at the Cathedral is that it's free. I'm not supposed to tell you that, because apparently this orchestra is expensive so our conductor wants people to come to the one at Gardner Hall so we can pay them. Which I get. But come on, it's FREE. And it's in the Cathedral, which is really where this music was meant to be sung. So it will be very cool.

Anyway, there you have it.
