Jess, I'm so excited for you! Happy Easter too! I didn't get sick much, but the one "proven" thing that I was advised of was ginger. My sister got some preggie pops or something like that. I think the best advice I can give is that there is no such thing as "normal" in pregnancy, it's all a unique experience. We heard so much "this is normal" "that is normal" and when we weren't experiencing it we'd freak out. Then all the horror stories came. In both cases what we learned is that everyone's situation is different. The other thing as far as labor goes. I didn't take any classes, but I have a friend that has 4 kids and is in to "natural" stuff. So I talked to her and she was there during labor and helped me with stuff. Mostly knowing what questions to ask and the answers to stuff when they'd ask us questions we didn't know the answer to...dumb things like how far apart are the contractions (I was trying to pretend they weren't happening). The other thing she did was while I was leaning over a ball (a little smaller than the excercise balls) she would press down on my back along either side of the spine and for those few seconds that she was pressing I had total relief from the pain. I made it about 10 hours before I wanted some relief. Anyway, don't know if that's just a me thing, but if it might help even for a little while, it's worth knowing. Mostly, I'm excited for you. I remember reading about little Ruby from Emily and trying to imagine what Britt was going to be like. I couldn't have imagined him (although it was fun to wonder and speculate). Someone asked me yesterday how I liked being a Mom. My first thought was that I don't get to spend enough time being one. I also had to laugh reading Emily and a Sara's do stuff while you can. It's so true! Wade and I are mostly homebodies, but we used to grocery shop together and we like being outdoors so far Britt doesn't deal with Wyoming wind very well. So we're limited. I have to add to that though that I thought we'd be much more limited that we are especially considering his unique circumstance. The other thing I have been thinking about lately is the transition from being part of the "singlehood" to part of the "couplehood" and then "parenthood". Anwyay, babbling too much. It's funny how other people's joy becomes a reflection into yourself. :) Love you guys! And Jess CONGRATS!
