So, I'm a little late but I want to play too!

1. Last week I took 80 9th graders to Philadelphia. All they remember about the city of brotherly love and the birthplace of the Consititution is the homeless guy who accosted them during the lunch break at a street cart.
2. I lived through another parent-teacher conferences. Of course, most of the parents that I needed to see didn't show up, but that's usual.
3. Last Wednesday I went out to get milk from Target (which is less than 2 miles away) and it took 3 hours and I never actually made it to Target.
4. My halloween costume is a $5 t-shirt that says "Happy Halloween" with a pumpkin on it. My students all asked who I was, and I told them that someone had to be the candy-passer-outer. :)
5. My couch that I ordered back in the beginning of August is FINALLY coming on Friday! It will be a vast improvement over the air mattress.
6. The teachers' union FINALLY (2 and half years late) had a vote about a proposed contract. I voted yes (take the money and run!) but all of the socialists in the city voted no, feeling that it was a sellout contract. Which it was. But I hope it passes because I want to buy bookcases and finally unpack my books!
7. My AP class is complaining that we are going "too slow", but at the same time they complained about the amount of homework. I don't remember being that arrogant myself...
8. Dave got paid for the first time! I took myself shopping to celebrate.
9. Dave traveled to New Orleans, stayed in the only hotel that was open (luckily a 5 star), and the building next to him burned down while he was there (though he didn't tell me that until long after he was home).
10. I'm starting to plan Thanksgiving, which I am going to host for the first time. I'm very excited, but I have no idea how to cook a turkey.
