You all have so many fun things going on in your lives! Well, I guess it's not all fun . . . but I love hearing about it and sharing in the excitement/anxiety/sadness/frustration. Everyone's lives have sure changed a lot since we were all students at BYU. Chiska, ditto on the congrats about your baby!

Jess, I'm sorry to hear about the setback with your house. I know how inspection issues can cause hiccups in the process. I hope it all works out and that Dave doesn't lose his mind studying for the bar exam!

Ryan and I went to Maui last week with my family and flew home Friday night. We arrived in Salt Lake at 7 a.m. Saturday morning, went to our apartment and slept for 3 hours since we didn't sleep at all on the flight the night before, then started moving stuff into our new house that is finally ours! We had to pay rent on our apartment through the end of July so we can move at a somewhat leisurely pace. We're also painting a couple of the rooms and doing new baseboards and crown molding in the living room this week. The whole house--inside and out--needs new paint (among other things) so we have PLENTY to keep us occupied. We're also planning to rip out the 1959 kitchen and redo it in the next few months. Luckily, Ryan's family is very handy so we're not doing this all by ourselves! Ryan's parents and his sister and brother in law are coming over tonight to help us get started on the painting projects. I'm excited but know that home improvement projects can be a challenge. It will certainly be a new test for our marriage. :) While Ryan's family is handy, he doesn't know much about doing this stuff but he LOVES going to Home Depot and seeing all the fun things you can do--then he gets really excited and wants to buy it all and I have to be the bad guy trying to keep us on budget. I keep having to remind him that this is our first house and if we buy the most expensive granite countertops and nicest appliances then we'll have a great kitchen but will never be able to recoup the costs (let alone make a profit) when we go to sell it in a few years. It doesn't make sense to install a gourmet kitchen in a starter home! He agrees with me but the little boy in him just keeps getting excited. :)
