NYC sucks.

Okay, so it's cold (as in WAY below freezing) and snowy, and it feels like spring will never come. And I'm cranky for other reasons, but I'll get to those later.

To be honest, I didn't go see the Gates, although you could see them from my living room window, if you kind of crank your head at a certain angle. Does that count? it was enough for me. I'm not really into modern art, and I think it's kind of a waste of $21 million. I haven't heard of Billy Crystal's new show, although it sounds interesting. It's been a really bad season lately, not really much good on Broadway. The last thing I saw was "Democracy," a play about West Germany in the 60s and 70s, written by the same guy who wrote "Copenhagen." It was good, but not great. Sorry to be disappointing. The weather has been absolutely terrible lately, so we haven't gotten out to do much of anything.

I'm ready to get out of the city, but we don't know if we're leaving yet. Dave definitely has a job with a firm, but it could either be here or in DC. I'm shooting for DC, because at least their we have a chance of actually buying a place, albeit a small and old place, but a place nonetheless. Here we don't have a shot in...well, you know where.

But what is really making me cranky tonight is that I'm sick of hearing people talk about pregnancy. Everyone in our little student group is either pregnant or just had a baby in the past couple of months. It's all anyone talks about lately, even at our book club tonight. The truth is I'm frustrated because I'd like to be pregnant myself. But alas, not yet.

Okay, sorry for the crankiness. By all means, please please please tell me all about your pregnancies and children, those of you who have them. I don't mind you guys talking about it. :)

Love you all and miss you. Someday I'm going to write a bestselling novel and rent a beachhouse for a week for all of us. Or maybe a month. My novel is going to be reall great.

Jess
