I'm not sure on the first question. All I know is I was able to capture right off the bat :shrug:

As for the XviD codec...hmm...I'm at work and can't look at my VDub set-up, but hopefully I will remember when I get home and tell you where the option is.

You're correct in that it'll only play the sound for now.

Also, to your original post, 5 mbs MPEG-2 should be sufficient after an XviD encode. It'll look *decent*, but not pur-ty. You can mess with settings in the XviD codec, but you want to limit the space too so...a tradeoff
