The forum itself is slow, regardless of connection method.

I can guarantee that this forum shares a server with many other forums, and possibly other services. I can also guarantee that the JAC forum will never be the major party responsible for a server slowdown in the near future, unless some kid launches on a Denial of Service attack on us (heh).

Conclusion: Other services on the same server are causing the slowdown, which we have no control over.

I've noticed that Voy seems to be expanding lately in: number of forums, targeted advertising, and efforts to register paid users. It is unlikely that they have upgraded server(s) to match any increased traffic.

Then again, this is not the first time that the server has experienced lag for a week or two. My best guess is that another forum has engaged in some sort of activity (e.g. contest, flame war, etc.) that has congested the server for a week.

These lag periods usually only last for a week or two, so it's not a big deal. JAC also has an IRC channel if you need your anime chat fix. :)
