Yeah, that stuff is hard to take, but I see the show as a commentary on what war does to people, so I feel like that nasty stuff is really needed to drive the points home.

Hahah, considering 1) Viz already has the manga. 2) its about as perfect as you can get for some kid's cartoon on TV I figure it will be picked up before too long.

Yeah, I was a bit skeptical at first (as was Wes) so I can totally understand that. It seemed too childish and a pale imiitation of other fighting anime (such as DBZ and Kenshin).

How far have you seen? It gets really good around episode 26, then things drop off a bit so you can get into the next arc, and now things have gotten really cool again (around ep 50). I am really amazed by the animation of it, which you don't really get to see until the serious fights pop up. :)

Oh, and one OT thing: ROCK LEE ROCKS! GO BEAT UP THAT GUY IN EP 49!! ^O^
