That would be Psych 248 with Gary Dell?

I see that Dell is becoming 'hipper' in his teaching style. When I attended 3 years ago, he spent an entire lecture going through Skinner's stimulus response charts in much more complexity than anyone wanted. There were times when half the class was asleep. :)

He was improving, though. The best part of the class was when he simulated hypnotic tests on himself, such as imagining that his hands were glued together and unable to separate.

The second half of the course on amnesia, hypnosis, and dreams is much more interesting than the first half on learning and conditioning.

Like all Psych classes, your performance is highly correlated with the quality of your notes and how well you study them.

I also took Psych 224 (cognitive psych focusing more on sensation, perception, attention, etc.) and Psych 321 (deeper study of long-term human memory that is only offered in spring). I see that they are offering 303 (deeper second half of 248) this semester, which is rare.

I minored in cognitive psych. The material is easy relative to engineering, but more note-based. The classes are 95% women. It's also surprisingly competitive. The women (many of them sorority members) have mastered note-taking and memorization like a science. :) Engineers (who are accustomed to problem-solving exams) may find themselves doing poorer in psych because the psych majors have a home field advantage.

If you have any pre-exam questions, I may be able to answer some, depending on how much I retained.
