Believe it or not, that's one of the least messed up parts of the translation. I can understand why someone would translate the Japanese phrase used there in that way...

That's fascinating -- I use IE too (yes, I've surrendered to the Evil Empire, I was a dedicated Netscape user for years and years -- way too many years after 4.76 continued to be considered current technology -- but I just couldn't escape the fact that given a choice between IE 6 and Netscape 6, Netscape 6 sucks rocks... anyhow, that's a different ramble). The link works OK for me, but just in case anyone else has the same phenomenon, here's the translation I did and much philosophical rambling about how best to translate toki wo koetai:

Notes:
** I'm really not sure what the syllables "se-no" could be meant for. They're written in hiragana, not katakana, but I've never seen a se followed by another e or i sound followed by a no sound in Japanese, and neither has my dictionary, so I'm guessing English "say no"...
* I went round and round on how to translate this construct. He sings "toki wo koetai" but the kanji used is "kisetsu" rather than "toki", and in any case the impression I get from this is not "I want to skip over time/surpass time/pass over without going through it"; the impression I get is "this is the way I want all the time I travel through to be". If I was going for more strictly literal I'd have said something more like "I want to pass time this way", but in English "pass time" sounds like "something boring you do while you're not paying attention," and again, I can't explain exactly why, but the impression I have from this structure is more like a long unending moment that your mind is present in, paying attention to, and appreciating, not one where you zone out and blink and it's gone... but here's a rundown of several of the ways I thought about saying it:
I want to spend my (or our) life (or lives) that way
I want to pass time that way
That's how I want our time to go by
That's how I want to surpass(/endure/triumph over) (the trials/endless rotation of) time
...arrgh. I know what I want to get across, I just don't know exactly which English words to map to my impression of the Japanese ones, and I don't know if the nuances I'm getting from it are what a native Japanese speaker would get from it or not -- opinions anybody?
