She shakes her head and looks at him. "No he won't," she says, voice set. "Not if I'm here left with breath in my body," she says, she would not let that happen, not to her children.

"Sable, don't you see? You have no choice but to let him, and that means you'll have a son with the future name of Remus. If you have a boy I mean, Remus will ignore any daughters." He looks down sadly, he used to be so happy.

She shakes her head again, "That will not happen, Romulous," she says, she wouldn't let it, "Who says I have to let him see them? I'm sure the Council will understand, even agree with me, that Remus should not see them."

She shakes her head. She knew they were his too, but.. he wasn't going to take care of them, or help her, he didn't deserve to have them. She begins to cry again, she was having these children, who inevitablely would have their souls touched by Remus, the only one she truly hated. She couldn't let them turn out like him, she wouldn't. And all Romulous would do is sit there and watch it happen, agree with him even! Then again he didn't really care, these children weren't his. She stands up and gets bowls from the shelf, wondering where all the other house members were. She stays silent, knowing if she said anything it would come out wrong, it always did.. She walked back over to the fireplace and poured soup into a bowl and handed it to Romulous, not even looking at him.

He touches her hand gently. "Sable, if I were on the council, which even if I were second leader I would be left out of this. I'm too close to it. Anyway, I don't want him near your children. I don't, but it's his right. No matter that these children were conceived using trickery, with only his hatrid for me in mind." He sighs taking the bowl from her. He hated this, made him feel like less of a man for not being able to push aside his hate. It was like in the legend his mother always told him, but still different.

She nods slowly, "I know Romulous, but you don't understand. You don't understand that no matter how much love I give these children, how much I discipline them, or how much I care for them, it'll all go to waste because of him," she says, "He will hurt them, and confuse them, teach them how to hate.." she pauses and shakes her head sadly as she pours another bowl for herself. "And it's not fair."

She gives a soft sigh, "I know. And I know that all of this worrying isn't getting me anywhere," she says, "But it's so hard not to.." she says with a weak smile, leaving the fire on in case any of the other members arrived..

He pulls her into his lap gently. "Don't worry Sable, you will have help. My mother will help, she is Remus' mother too. I'm the only one who hates Remus so much that I can't have anything to do with his children."

She nods and gives a soft smile, "I know," she says and puts her arm around his neck and looks at him. "It's just hard Romulous," she says.

She nods slowly and puts her head on his shoulder, "I know," she says softly, "I know.. Looks like we've gotten ourselves into quite a mess.." she says with a bitter grin, "But we can fix it," she says, trying to convince him as well as herself. "We can. We're just gonna have to help each other," she says.

"I can fix nothing Sable, I'm useless. I couldn't protect the thing I love most from hurt, pain and Remus. Damn it! I'm a shaman and your a second leader, why can't he respect that we are both higher ranks than him?" He sighs thinking it would be best for her if she were to leave him, she would be safer.

"I did everything. If I had taken your first apology, if I hadn't cheated..... Des made a pass at me before, I said no then why couldn't I then. Remus, I wanted to get him back, but even if he knew he wouldn't care. Sable, you would be safer from pain if you were to leave me, find another man. One that can protect you" He looks down at the floor wondering what Luna was playing at now, what trickery she was using.

She wipes away a tear tenderly, and looks at him. "The blame game never works Romulous," she says, "Because if I had just believed you.." she says, "And Romulous I don't want another man, I want you," she says.

"No Sable, I do mean it. I'm no good to anyone. Anyway, my cousin Lyall had children recently, I need to go see them." He kisses her gently and walks out after she gets off his lap.

She watches him leave, again, and slowly walks to the dining table where she ate, needing all the nourishment and energy she could receive. She thought about him, feeling she was the cause of it all, and hoped he was okay.
