 Kage wasn't sure if the others had noticed, but while they were fighting back the troops, he had used the confusion to sneak away to try and gain access to their first target, the building, which as they were told might contain more hostages. He knew the other members of the unit were strong enough to handle the troops, especially after Tsurshi's impromptu demonstration of his power, although he was a bit worried about Natsume's reaction to the violence.
Kage circled the building, looking for possible entry points, but before he could decide which one to use, a higher level window smashed above him. Away from the exploding glass and the shouts of soldiers from the now empty window frame, flew what seemed to him like an angel, which after a few seconds disappeared into the night sky.
'Looks like our unknown hostage was capable of rescuing herself' Kage thought to himself.
Kage heard the decision to retreat through his communicator, and with that made his way back to the rest of the group, right through the middle of the troops they were battling unseen, using the shadow stealth magic in his sword. He appeared out of nowhere next to Tsurshi, and without a word assisted him in covering the units retreat.
