Instead they self-destructed, the explosion battering both Priss and the suit she attacked, but doing little real damage. The suit then stepped aside--allowing the third one to attack. A loud, piercing, high-pitched blast of tightly-focised, coherent sound burst from a dish mounted on the shoulder, hitting Priss' hardsuit dead-on and slamming it to the ground. Then the pilot turned the frequency even higher, the beam keeping the suit pinned down as the sound inside the suit built to a painfully high, almost maddening level...Meanwhile the other tro suits turned their weapons on the others as they surfaced.
