Ahh! Shade finally recognized who it was...but he had another problem on his hands. She was running out if time--if they failed, he doubted that Paig would live long enough for him to make another attempt...
"Paige..." Ignoring the winds, the power, he walked right up to her, placing hoth hands on her shoulders, looking her straight in the eyes. "Don't let your anger control you. You're not a killer and you know it. I know you've suffered--but killing them...won't ease you pain..."
For a moment, his eyes flashed slightly and turned away, unable to meet hers, lost in a painful memory of his own that he'd long sought to bury. "Don't ask me how I know this, please..." he said, blinking as he stard at the floor. "Just...take my word for it, all right?...."
Then, as if trying to change the subject, he waved his hand around. "Besides...you've made your point. I don't think any of them will ever think about pulling something like this again--especially not that one," Smiling, Shade pointed to the boy who'd lifted her gown. He was cowering on the floor, eyes wide, surrounded by a huge yellow puddle. Especially after I get through with him, he added silently.
