Dr. Faust raised his hands at the Commander's question. "Let me guess. There are some ethical issues you wish to address concerning Bro'Grim's internal systems. Namely the awareness and existence of the human consciousness." He directed the others to continue with their task of moving the cyborg to be sent home.

"Let me see if this little story will clear a few things up. What's left of the human component is a woman who was once named Sasha. She was our top Time Jumper as well as an agent of the Temporal Police Enforcers.

"During one of her missions, she was caught in a nuclear explosion. In the year 1962, there was an armed engagement starting on a small island about 90 miles south of the soverign nation of United States. During that time, the world was divided between two political idealologies.

"Sasha was was tracking down a Post-Soviet zealot who at several important historical junctions would attempt some plot to start a nuclear war. Korea, Vietnam, Afganistan, and finally back in time to Cuba.

"Something happened and the U.S. launched an air strike against Moscow. Following was a massive retaliation. First hit was Europe, then the U.S. In a few short days, the entire planet was irradiated.

"During the second strike we were barely able to pull Sasha from Ground Zero. The incredibly high amount of radiation as well as a paradoxial change was wreaking havok on our technology. In the process, she was hit - And survived. Barely.

"We were going to 'Pull the plug' as it were when she begged for other options. The only options were a memory transfer to a clone or use what ever was salvagable in a cyborg. Her DNA was already degraded and mutated from the radiation so a clone was out of the question.

"She lay on her death bed for several months while she endured painful radiation treatments. Our doctors tried in vain to reconstruct her DNA, rebuild her immune system, as well as repair the physical damage. What we would never have been able to repair would be th emotional damage.

"We told her her options. She chose to become Bro'Grim; named after her favorite writers - The Brothers Grimm. In order to supress the emotional wounds, our chief designer came up with Protocol 138. Unfortunately this not only supressed her emotions, but her consciousness as well.

"Sasha was no more after that point. All that was left was the cyborg unit."

Dr. Faust's eyes lowered for a moment. There was more to be told. But he wasn't going to say any more.

"If you'll excuse me, I have work to do. I do hope that answered all of your potential questions."
