RICH'S MOVIE REVIEW

12/5/03 THE LAST SAMURAI

It's that time of year where the big contenders for Oscars come out all at once and what better than The Last Samurai to lead the way. This is a powerful film that is so beautiful and rich in culture, you'd have to be made of stone for it not to move you. It is a great story of honor and loyalty. The performances in Samurai were great. All the actors convey real emotions on the screen. At the very least I think Tom Cruise will be nominated for best actor. The Last Samurai is a nearly flawless film. It intertwines great story and heart to create a compelling drama. My only problem with Samurai (a small problem at that) is the ending goes a little Hollywood which is somewhat out of synch with the rest of the movie but this is still a must see.
