In reply to: TrinityLast 's message, "The season opener. Warning! SPOILERS INSIDE!!!" on 21:58:45 09/24/02 Tue Well, overall, I liked the episode. It wasn't depressing, unlike most of last year, and Dawn didn't whine. The stuck vampire in the beginning was kind of amusing, the new high school was a good touch, and I like Buffy's job, as well as the principal. I wonder if he'll turn out to be evil or good? As for the G/W stuff, honestly, Giles paired with any member of the Scooby gang (except Anya) squicks me. I don't think they'll go that way, though, since Giles is only part-time this year. At least, I hope not. Actually, what bothered me more is the possibility that B/X might be this season's big relationship. No offense to anyone who likes that pairing, but I think it would be pretty boring to watch. I wouldn't even have thought about it except that another viewer pointed out Xander's "dad" appearance (wearing the suit) and Buffy's "mom" thing, which was mentioned several times in the episode. I'd much rather see Anya/Xander again and a redo of the Buffy/Spike thing. Anya might almost as well have not been in the episode, but the writers ought to have some plans for her down the road. If not with Xander, then what? Speaking of Spike, I was surprised by how he returned. He's really losing it. Still, I don't think that will go on TOO much longer. He's going to have to snap out of it before mid-season, right? I haven't been reading spoilers because they ruin the surprises, but I am very curious about what's going to happen in certain areas. I'll probably end up breaking down and hunting up the info eventually. [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] Replies:
