I would like them to play it out, but that seems very unlikely. (Of course, a ton of fanfic authors have already written their own continuations. I'll probably have to be content with those versions.) Could Buffy just stick Spike back in the basement and leave him alone for days at a time, knowing the bizarre condition he's in? I'd like to think she wouldn't but on the show I'm afraid that's exactly what will happen. When Angel was suicidal, Buffy went chasing after him and was extremely concerned. I hope she'll show at least some of that sort of concern in regards to Spike, at least make an effort to see that he doesn't harm himself.
