Okay, as some of you might know by now, there's gonna be a new club at Western next year: the Western Writer's Collective (that thing I got you all to sign for), and, somehow, i've become the events exec member for it (scary, eh?). Anyway, here's the more specific info:

Writers assemble! A new club, tentatively titled “The Western Writer’s Collective,” is forming and looking for the support and input of anyone with an interest in creative writing. The club represents creative writers on campus and, in the coming year, hopes to create a social environment in which writers are free to collaborate, critique one another, or simply expose themselves to the work of other writers. The goals are simple: the growth of a community of writers here on campus. We plan to have small-scale workshops, public readings, writing contests, a publication, and more. We also intend to have strong internet presence where writers can further interact without the limitations that the “real world™” imposes on today’s students. If only your professors were this understanding. The best part is that you (yes, you!) have an opportunity to shape the club’s future. We are holding an informal drop-in session at the Grad Club where you can ask questions, discuss concerns, share ideas, or even volunteer for a position in our executive…

Drop-in: Wednesday, February 5th, 2003 @ 12 noon – 2 pm
Location: The Grad Club, Middlesex College
