Well Hey Colin,
Sorry, took a few days to write a paper and the site is buzzing, who would have thought.

So, the war. Its escalating.
Colin, I have listened to your opinions, Sarah yours always.
You are right Colin, people should pay more attention to history. Here's what history (I'm a history student, btw) has taught me.
1) War is always the answer, never the last choice, but always the first thing people jump to.
2) Americans, like their fore-fathers overseas, have no problem adapting to that instinct.

The Gulf War mirrors some of the problems we see today, obviously Bush Jr. wants to complete his father's work. I know why Hussein is still in power, it was not economically feasible for Americans to remove him. Decades of the Cold War had caught up to Bush, he was unable to convince the majority of Americans that their tax dollars should be spent there. Also, negotiations prevailed (so they say)

The war is a tricky one, filled with many layers. I wouldn't trust Fox News, CNN, really though they say the media has become able to show us War more than ever, its far from the truth, we are not privy to the truth. But whats truth anyways.

On one hand the war is about an autocrat, on the other American's control in the East. So many people keep saying that US has not been attacked, a terrorist attack. I'm sorry, this war has nothing to do with terrorism, and I'm sure won't till another election rolls around. This is a strategic move, spurred by an opportunity. The Iraqis need a new government, but obviously, as evidenced by the UN debates, is not the way. So war has become the answer. Its a give and trade game, how many people die so that the Americans gain their power and a select few gain control of government in Iraq. Bush wants Iraq, he wants the ability to get Kuwait, Afghanistan, its a process, its always how it works, the powers battle for control. And in this case, Oil.

I don't know how much Bush wants to help the Iraqis, only post-war behaviour will indicate his intent. Either way, the war has started, and questioning that choice has become irrelevant.
or as Moore would say, Fictious.
Peace out.
