>If someone discovered the meaning of life, marketed
>it, and sold it in a readable fashion, would life lose
>it's true meaning?

Ok, here is my take on this question...
I thought about the word "true" when thinking about how to answer this. I follows along with Sam's idea that humans have diverse opinions as to what would be considered a meaningful life. In addition to that point, I also believe that there is no such thing as losing something we all fundamentally believe in anyways. Beliefs allow us to live out our daily lives, and so a single person's belief in the "true" meaning of life would only touch them. Even if you did create a single defined meaning, it would only hold any value if everyone believed in it, and we already can see that people as a general rule enjoy knowing that one person's "truth" is another person's "bullshit".
So I suppose if a specific meaning of life were to be marketed, would it garner the faith of humans? I am sure no one saw Christianity coming, but look how quickly it spread. Now we see people dying for words that we made up, Freedom, Democracy, etc. These words have been marketed in such a way that people risk their lives for it, but does it diminish life? Or does it increase value in fighting for what that person believes in....
Here is a question of my own, what makes us believe?
