Well, I'm glad the religion issue seems to have been settled- if anyone recalls, my gripe with the previous set-up was that others weren't allowed to discuss religion while there were several references to Avenger's own beliefs and opinions throughout the site. With those parts removed, it looks like everyone is treated equally now. So I have no problem with it.

Some concerns I still have regard things like the "human filter" on the message board- you have to send all messages to an e-mail address before they may be posted. It sounds like a bit of a weird set-up to me. There are several boards out there that offer a moderated system, where all messages must be reviewed before they may be posted. There are also boards where membership is required and must be approved by the administration. Sending to an e-mail account is a pain for me, personally, because of the way my computer is. I think it also makes the site a more desirable target for trolls and hackers, because it's more fun to make trouble on a site that is taking such drastic measures to avoid it. Further, I think we all need to stop being so anthropophobic (fearful of humans.) I highly doubt any "unicorn hunters" are going to come and do anyone harm on an Internet message board- same as it's unlikely someone is going to go "hunting" unicorns IRL. Remember, most people today don't even believe unicorns exist, and fewer still think it's possible for them to exist in human form. There's no more reason for unicorns to be afraid of humans than for humans to be afraid of humans- and while there's still a lot for everyone to be afraid of in that case, they don't just ban themselves from their own message boards because of it! Like it or not, we're all stuck together, so we should at least learn to get along. Paranoia, fear, and "human bashing" just makes unicorns look bad, not humans. A lot of other "otherkin" communities have this problem, and things like that are often either prohibited or greatly frowned upon. Just my opinion, however.

In any case, I'd like to see the unicorn community come out of seclusion and be taken more seriously. There are already many therianthropy communities out there, as well as otherkin of all types- elves, dragons, gryphons, you name it. But unicorns are almost unheard of. While isolation sounds nice and does have advantages, it makes it almost impossible for other unicorns to find it and perhaps realize what they are, and thus prohibits us from growing as a community. There are several older, more "serious" unicorns out there who could contribute a lot of information and perspectives if they could find these unicorn boards and websites and thought it might be worth their time. No offense is meant when I say this, but there's really not a lot of unicorn-related discussion going on here or even at Always Believe, which is why I'm an infrequent visitor now. I'm at the point where I need older unicorns to talk with and discuss monocerine ideas with, but there's really not that many around anymore. It's frustrating to see all the dragon and gryphon stuff out there, who manage to have a lot of fun and mess around, but can also hold long and thoughtful discussions. They even do this with humans and other 'kin-types, who sometimes contribute the best information because of their different POV. I think we should try to do something like that. It's a bit risky, because it means we'll be dealing with trolls, fakers, role-players and all the rest, but in the end I think the rewards will outweigh the cost. Once again, just my opinion.

In any case, back to Always Believe. I'm not sure if I'm going to join up again- I'm not even sure, after the "incident," that I'll be allowed to.:P But if someone would be so kind as to relay a message to Avenger for me, I'd be most grateful. Tell him that I'm willing to forgive and forget if he is.---]:=8)
