The whole idea for the poem came from an image that came into my head and the words to the poem flowed with the image. The image was that of a lone moonwhite unicorn on a beach of pure white sand with sand dunes in the background, also with the sound of the waves in the background. It was a clear nightsky with thousands of stars and a bright full moon. I would say the unicorn was troting, but it was more of a floating/gliding movement, but it wasn't a lope either. As I watched the unicorn move, the words of the poem flowed through my head, thats when I wrote it down. It didn't take me long at all. It was really hard for me to not cry in the middle of the class when I finished it. The poem and the picture of the unicorn made me long for home. I would really like to meet the unicorn who sent me the image and poem. I can't explain it, but I believe a unicorn from home sent the image and poem to me to share with yall, to let us know that they understand what we are going through and are doing their best to get us back home.

Take Care
Latae

PS: I'll put the poem up in the library as soon as I can.
