That's honourable, but I don't tend to think in terms of the offences caused by individuals because, to be fair, what individuals did they did because it was expected of them, sometimes even required of them.

When I speak of mistakes, I am talking more about extremes of shepherding, crass and cruel covering, forbidding natural relationships, teaching people they were likely to lose salvation if they left, criticising all other christians, discouraging friendships with people outside except to evangelise them, ....all of which I once hoped were arrogances of the past, but which it is quite clear from more recent experience, are still visited on people now.
