Well, that is one point of view. Another is that there is no God at all, except for a vengeful God created by people like Barbara who delight in the self-satisfied delusion of people who disagree with them being punished for it.

Who would want to spend eternity with such people?

In my opinion, which unlike Barbara I am not claiming is the truth, we live one life and then we die. We have no significance beyond the one that we create for ourselves. We must live the life we have like there is no tomorrow, because chances are, there won't be one.

I was engaged to an abuse survivor once who had been through lots of therapy and come out a stong minded individual, and I thought her philosophy was a good one: live life as if you only had two years to live. That way you have to make responsible plans (not splurge all your money irresponsibly only to suffer in poverty if you do not die), but at the same time, cram everything into your life, because you might have little of it left.

That is why I cram my life with everything that turns me on - sex (of course), flying, picnics etc with my girlfriend, motorcycling, creating stuff in my workshop, more sex and flying, and a fair bit of mindless chilling like coming on here.

Life is too valuable to piss it away being angry or letting someone dictate your lifestyle or attending meaningless services etc....only to then discover too late that you lived a prescription not a life at all.
