The fact is that most of us were cushioned from reality. We didn't have to worry about unemployment, paying the bills, etc

We'd lecture non-JA Christians about being worldly, yet they were out there facing all the hassles that normal people have to contend with, while we, who imagined we had "given up everything" for the Kingdom had given up little and gained a whole lot.

There was a high price to pay in terms of freedom etc, but we never experienced poverty.
