Seems to me that what drew lots of us to the JA was something good in us searching for other people who were visionary and idealistic...and most people I met in the JA had a lot of good about them. It has surprised and disappointed me at times when ex-JAs have turned out not to be nearly as nice as I fondly imagined I would always find them, but on the whole I don't think of JAs and ex-JAs as weak, gullible people....just very human.

...and as a non-Christian, I am really fond of humans; much more so than when I was a Christian, when I was tortured by a need to pigeonhole and judge people.

I am not sure I can explain why that all came into my mind, (except that humour is very human, I suppose)
