Subject: the JFC always liked exclusivity

The PB were very similar to the JA as it was in the early 1980s, but I think Noel thought them in competition. He was always happier with comparisons to extreme groups which were no longer active, so that he could claim that the JA was a successor to a tradition.

For instance, Noel admired the Bruderhof, but said that they were the "form without the power" [now]....he liked the community to be thought of as part of that tradition, but liked to point out that the Bruderhof did not experience signs and wonders and speaking in tongues.

I can't remember much about what Noel said about the PB, but comparisons were made between JA agape exclusivity and the "exclusive" brethren's attitude towards christians who were not of their denomination. I think Noel always like the idea of exvluding other christians because back in our day, we thought we were the Kingdom, not just part of it.

Other christians were said to exist because God was pouring his blesson on us (on Bugrooke, as was the common expression) and the blessing was too great for us to hold it, so others got splashed. Such conceit! Other christians were only blessed because god was pleased with the JA!!!
