So how do I become a Christian?

About 70% of people [by the Bureau of Statistics ] say they are Christians but according to the Bible only a few percent of these people would really be known by God as His own.

Most people think the following things somehow make you a Christian!
Living a good life____Doing the right thing by others___ Going to Church___Being a member of a Church___Being christened or baptized ___Being Confirmed___Taking Communion___etc.

Some of these things in themselves are very good but none of them will save you from God's judgment on sin.___The Holy Bible alone is to be trusted as the Word of God to show us the way of Salvation.

SO __HOW DO YOU BECOME A CHRISTIAN ?

Accept that GOD LOVES you regardless of who you are and what you have done.

Admit that you are totally helpless to save yourself.

Recognize your sinful and condemned state before God.

Be sorry for your sins and turn from them.

Believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross for your sin and took all the judgment of God on your sin INSTEAD OF YOU.

Trust Him as your Lord and Saviour who has made you righteous and accepted before God.

Accept by faith that you have been saved and justified by the grace of God alone and not by anything you have done.
GOD SAYS IT IN HIS WORD LIKE THIS.
Romans 3:23. 'For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God'. Romans 6:23. 'the wages of sin is eternal separation from God'. Romans.5:6-8. 'when we were without strength, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly, God demonstrated His own love to us in this way, while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.' John 3:16. 'For God loved everyone so much that He gave His only Son the Lord Jesus that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life'. Romans 10:9. 'that if you will confess with your mouth Jesus Christ as Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.' Ephesians. 2:8,9. 'For by grace you have been saved through faith and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God , not of works lest anyone should boast.'

GOD THEN PROMISES YOU MANY THINGS
John 5:24 . Most assuredly I say to you, He who hears my word and believes on Him who sent Me HAS everlasting life and shall NOT come into judgement, but HAS passed from death to life.
Ephesians 1:13,14. In Him you trusted, now having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is now the guarantee of our inheritance.___ 2Corinthians. 5:17,21. Therefore if anyone is in Christ he is a new creation, old things have passed away; behold all thing have become new. For He made Jesus Christ who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might be seen by God as perfectly righteous in Christ. Romans 5:1,2. so now by faith we have been cleared of every sin and debt and have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ through whom we now have access by faith into this grace in which we stand.

If you have believed the above and trusted Jesus Christ as your Saviour then you are now saved eternally and born again spiritually. God has translated you from Satan's kingdom and placed you into the Body of Christ. You are now a member of the Body of Christ, which is Christ's church.

IMPORTANT. Remember that your salvation is a gift of God and there is nothing you can do to deserve it or keep it. It is God who saved you, and keeps you saved.

You do not have to sign your name, be baptized, speak in tongues or preform any other sign or ritual to prove you are saved. The only evidence is the witness of the indwelling Holy Spirit and the fruit that He produces in your life. Romans 8:17. Galatians.5:22-25. Love Joy Peace Longsuffering Kindness Goodness Faithfulness Gentleness and Self control.
