Luin jouluna vihdoin tuon Orwellin kirjan. Se oli tosi hyvä. Loistava se ajatus kielen muokkaamisesta niin että kun katoaa kapinoinnin mahdollistavat sanat niin itse kapinointikin tulee mahdottomaksi. Pidin sitä vähän epäloogisena että se kapinaliikkeen johtaja joka olikin isoveljen kätyri selosti kapinan periaatteita niin yksityiskohtaisesti ja lainasi sen kirjan päähenkilölle kun se ei kuitenkaan johtanut mihinkään. En oikein käsittänyt miksi se toimi niin.

Tuo teos sekä Fahreinheit 451 ja Uljas uusi maailma muodostaa ikäänkuin kiinnostavan trilogian kun ne kaikki kuvaavat samaa aihetta (tulevaisuuden maailmaa jossa vapaa ajattelu on kiellettyä ja kaikki kontroloitua) hieman eri kannalta.
