Mukti Ma had a similar experience she tells in Glimpses of a Life Divine. She has a samadhi and the voice of God says to her, "I am Yogananda, Yogananda has become ME." Doctor Lewis was the one who centered on this view of Master as the Light the most. It seemed to be his personal specialty like Baktananda's is practice of the presence. I wouldn't say he's the only one who has this view but it was his bread and butter. Oliver Black and Rajarsi talked about the Light alot also.

Doctor Lewis was powerful. His son in law John Rosser told me Doctor penetrated the star and got cosmic consciousness very fast in his sadhana--ie in the 1st few years. BUT It took him 30 more years to get the final realization in 1958 at Borrego in the desert. This event is depicted in the Dr Lewis memorial book put out by SRF. Evidently it is very easy to take a left turn and hover at initial samadhi states, but he did not.

Bro. Anandamoy has said Guruji said in his presence of his direct chelas "there will be 4 siddhas and quite a few jivanmuktas." Rajarsi and Gyanamata were 2 of the 4 for sure. Doctor and Daya Ma are probably the other 2 but who knows.

Doctor never missed 3 times a day kriya and went at it very hard the 1st few years of sadhana. Once a week on sunday he meditated all day and did 1000 kriyas. I don't know how much he did otherwise. Everyone that knew him, Mrs Lewis and Brenda (still alive) talks of their joy, love, and dynamic personality.

all finite concepts and beliefs are consumed in the vision of God. I like to keep this in mind
