Subject: sannyas question

i was reading some ananda website over the weekend, and saw some letter correspondence from kriyananda to mrinilini mata, and some back and forth between jayananda(srf) and kriyananda.

it raised a small issue that i am hoping someone reading this might have a little insight into.

kriyananda was upset that he had been addressed as donald waters instead of kriyananda, by jayananda in this 2001 letter.

my understanding is that when in the 1980's or so kriyananda wanted to get married, that he asked daya mata to remove his sannyas designation, as one of the principles of a sannyasi is you don't marry. I read that daya mata honored his request and subsequently he did marry.

Here's the question: Traditionally, in India, is this how a person gets sannyas
removed? Also, it seems that if in fact Daya Ma cancelled the kriyananda swami thing, that Donald Waters should not in good conscience still use the kriyananda name?
