I do apologise Kriya Yogi,perhaps I should have expressed myself more precisely when referring to Battacharya Maharaj's lineage.There were some differences of opinion among his lineage regarding Gurudev (Yogananda).Not all were unanimously condemnatory of Yogananda and SRF.It certainly is NOT the 'official' view of
Battacharya's lineage that Yogananda was wrong,just see the website of his tradition to see how much love they have for Gurudev and his work.Even though I mentioned that Battacharya Maharaj was not too happy about his brother discple,Sri yukteswar starting an organisation around the teachings of Kriya,I did NOT intend to imply that Battacharya was judging Giri Maharaj's spiritual 'level'.
There is ALWAYS a reaction to ANY diaspora of sacred teachings.St Peter was reluctant at first to the teachings of Jesus being disseminated among the gentiles.It required a vision from The Holy Sprit(see Acts of the apostles) in which Peter was commanded to eat 'unclean' food to change his mind.This disagreement in noway lessens the spiritual stature either of peter himself or St Paul who argued that Jesus' message should be given to the gentiles.
In our own tradition,Babji was reluctant when Lahiri requested permission to initiate ALL sincere seekers into Kriya.Babaji seemed to have held the belief that Kriya is only suited to a VERY select few.Eventaully,we are told Babaji made a consession to the genuine compassion of Lahiri Baba.THANK GOD FOR THAT!
